Rain Out Procedure

1. Home Team Manager has the responsibility to postpone a game due to inclement weather. The decision to postpone a game should not be made more than two hours prior to game time.

2. Home Team Manager must contact the visiting team manager of his intention to postpone the game. If the visiting team manager should disagree, the final decision is to be made by the Player Agent, unless his/her team is in question or he/she is not available, then the following members are to be called in descending order until someone is reached.

Field Manager
Umpire in Chief
Vice President
President
Treasurer
Secretary

3.   If agreed to postpone the game, the Player Agent is to be contacted for the rescheduled date by the Home Team Manager. This policy is also to be used in the event of a suspended game.

4.   Home Team Manager is also to contact the following:

  • Visiting Team Manager to inform them of the rescheduled date
  • For Jr./Sr. Division, notify the Umpire-in-Chief when a game is cancelled (for what ever reason) and notify him of the re-scheduled date. The Umpire-in-Chief must in turn call the assigned umpires to tell them of the cancellation and reschedule the umpires.
  • For Minor through Major Division, notify the umpires or the team responsible for umpiring that game. If the umpire cannot make the rescheduled date, inform the Player Agent so that a substitute umpire can be obtained.
